SUMMARY
The Operations Integration Lead exists to strengthen how Schupan Materials Trading (SMT) Operations functions as a system. The role focuses on simplifying how work flows across logistics, contracts, compliance, systems, and data so execution remains consistent without relying on constant escalation or individual intervention.
By improving how the system works day to day, the role helps operations support commercial activity across changing volumes and product mixes while maintaining discipline, compliance, accuracy, and reliability. This position is focused on execution, coordination, and continuous operational improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Integration and system design
Identify where work breaks down across functions and redesign how it flows to reduce handoffs, rework, and escalation
Ensure new processes, system changes, and operating decisions translate into clear, repeatable execution; support onboarding of new processes, vendors, and trade lanes.
Determine shipment milestones and resolve execution issues related to timing, cost, or documentation
Identify operational risks and implement controls in partnership with Operations leadership, using systems and standardized work processes
Support automation and efficiency initiatives to reduce manual effort and error rates
Project management and center-of-excellence
Own how projects and changes are integrated into Operations, not day-to-day project delivery
Design and standardize implementation patterns so improvements land cleanly and scale consistently
Define which types of initiatives require Operations integration support and which do not
Operational stability and resilience
Support operational setup and administration of contracts, customers, suppliers, and vendors
Reduce reliance on informal coordination by embedding clarity and ownership into workflows
Build compliance controls into daily operations so they scale with volume and complexity, in consultation with the Trade Compliance Lead
Partner with IT and Operations to ensure systems absorb work that would otherwise remain manual
Improve data visibility so issues surface early and are resolved consistently
Resilient leadership coverage
Develop working knowledge across each Operations leadership area (contracts, logistics, international operations, compliance)
Provide continuity and informed coverage when leaders are stretched, unavailable, or navigating change
Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by ensuring system knowledge and execution patterns are not limited to one person
Serve as a central operational point of coordination across trading, logistics, accounting, and compliance

Travel up to 20% of the time; must be able to travel by air, rail, or car based on most efficient and effective mode of travel to accomplish goals and objectives.
Must be able to handle high stress situations.
