Lowboy & Walking Floor Truck Drivers

Job Summary
We are Roofing Contractors seeking energetic and dependable Lowboy & Walking Floor Truck Drivers to join our dynamic transportation team! In this role, you will operate specialized heavy-duty trucks designed for transporting bulk trash from a job site and bring to land fill or transfer station, including lowboy trailers for hauling construction equipment and walking floor trailers for bulk freight. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient deliveries across various routes while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities

• Safely operate lowboy trailers, walking floor trucks, and other commercial vehicles, dump truck, and tractor-trailer units.
• Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, deliveries, route information, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and address any route or cargo issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated.
• Proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks such as tractor-trailers, walking floor trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or lowboys.
• Delivery driver experience with a focus on freight transport across diverse routes.
• Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or manual techniques when necessary.
• Knowledge of load securement standards and safety protocols for transporting freight via flatbed or walking floor trailers.
• Familiarity with route planning tools and GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery scheduling.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance basics and safety procedures related to commercial trucking.
