Job Summary:
Supervises the management team in the daily operations of a large-scale logistics center, including the wholesale outlet sales floor, dock, salvage, and donations, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Oversees the security of all GWH assets, customer relations, the sale of donated goods, inventory controls, and accurate transactions to maximize profitability and expand training opportunities. Provides direction, job training, supervision, development, and support for a team of 50–100+ associates across multiple shifts in a 24/7 operation. Assists in leading all associates to handle goods properly and safely, optimize inbound and outbound flows, and increase revenues for mission services funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure alignment and consistency across all aspects of the logistics center operations, including SOPs, Reference Guides, job descriptions, performance evaluations, observation checklists, production standards, training, Safety Program, and other documents related to the DGP systems.
- Supervise department managers, the logistics center team, and outlet donation specialists across multiple shifts.
- Supervise and assist with coordinating aftermarket resale and salvage operations to ensure that proper systems and resources are in place to maximize profitability.
- Oversee the promotion, collection, transportation, production, sales, and distribution of donated products, both externally and internally, ensuring that operational and sales activities are well coordinated to maximize profitability and deliver excellent customer service.
- Supervise logistics with vendors, maximize post-retail revenue opportunities, optimize inbound and outbound flows, and minimize disposal costs.
- Oversee and support management in achieving zero waste to advance GWH's green environment initiatives.
- Ensure hazardous materials are handled according to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as GWH policies and procedures.
- Oversee high-volume inbound and outbound dock operations, including trailer scheduling and cross-docking activities.
- Responsible for the entire facility's P&L, including budgeting, cost management, and achieving profitability targets.
- Maintain accurate inventory management of goods.
- Responsible for register pulls, readings, cash reports, daily activity reports, transmittal of reports, and daily deposits in accordance with GWH policies and procedures.
- Supervise and support the hiring, training, and development of associates.
- After completing the GWH Train the Trainer program, conduct training sessions for team members and strictly follow GWH’s processes and procedures for forklift and electrical stacker training.
- Oversee the planning and efficient utilization of the workforce across multiple shifts.
- Oversee the maintenance of the building and equipment to comply with company standards, and order supplies.
- Ensure good stewardship of all donations, through proper handling and processing of incoming donations in accordance with GWH policies and procedures.
- Maintain store security and ensure the safety of GWH associates and property by adhering to policies and procedures, including OSHA compliance, managing powered industrial trucks (PIT), conducting safety audits, and reporting near misses.
- Ensure labor and payroll are maintained in accordance with GWH policies and procedures.
- Foster a service-oriented mindset and reduce service failures and injuries among associates.
- Ensure that incident reports, vehicle defects, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles before and after the route, as well as equipment and maintenance needs, are reported in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely rotation of apparel and hard goods according to GWH’s policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of merchandise knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing.
- Ensure that statistical counts are completed accurately and on time.
- Communicates with the attended donation centers (ADC), transportation, stores, and district leadership to ensure GWH processing guidelines are being followed for operational excellence throughout the system.
- Ensure all associates wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure daily goals for table rotations, trailer unloading, and salvage processing goals are met.
- Handle the responsibilities of the Assistant Manager – Dock Operations when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred; an associate’s degree with several years of relevant work experience may also be acceptable.
- Experience in a warehouse/distribution environment is preferred.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution setting is highly preferred.
- Experience managing 50+ associates and/or multiple shifts is preferred.
- Proficient in computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, GPS, the internet, and various applications.
- Capable of learning warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and related technologies.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Ability to read, write, communicate effectively, and perform basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
- Proficient in salvage loading techniques, loading types, tracking, and reporting.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The ability to continuously stand or walk for an entire shift, frequently push or pull, occasionally bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, or reach above shoulder level, and climb a ladder. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. (such as fixture parts or product cartons) and occasionally moving up to 100 lbs. (assisting with bins or other heavy items).
An indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures.
