Heavy Equipment Operators drive and control large equipment and vehicles for construction. This equipment includes bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, excavators, tractor with pans, rollers, among other equipment. The position will complete assigned tasks while achieving a Zero Incident goal.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those the employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this position and the environmental conditions likely encountered during performance. The employee will be regularly required to communicate and effectively exchange information with other employees. The employee will be required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and move about in a construction environment, including being able to reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds (team lift). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision acuity, depth perception, and distance vision. The employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts, equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, some occasional high noise levels may be expected.
Position Type, Travel and Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are determined by job requirements. Weekend work and working long hours will be required when necessary. This position may require travel, including overnight stays.
