This is a rapid work environment, MUST be able to multitask, and can adapt to change. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK EVERY SATURDAY! Lifting material and driving a forklift is an everyday all-day duty.

PDQ Recycling is seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Metal Sorter. As a Warehouse Metal Sorter you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing various types of non-ferrous scrap metal from individuals and businesses. Your primary goal will be to identify valuable metal materials while adhering to recycling regulations.

Responsibilities

· Identify various grades of non-ferrous scrap metal material

· Greet customers and assist with material verification and sorting

· Evaluate the quality and quantity of scrap metal materials to determine their value

· Load and unload scrap metal from vehicles

· Safely and accurately store materials

· Clean, cut, sort various non-ferrous materials for shipping

· Ongoing preventative maintenance cleaning of warehouse facility

· Operate a forklift safely and accurately

· Collaborate with the recycling team to optimize processes and contribute to the overall success of the recycling operation

Requirements

· Strong attention to detail and organization skills

· Excellent communication and customer service abilities

· Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment

· 1-year previous general labor in the scrap metal or construction industry preferred

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

· Willingness to learn and follow operational procedures

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

· Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

· Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the shift

· Comfortable working in an industrial, fast-paced environment

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

· Ability to perform repetitive tasks

Position Details

· Full-time with Overtime. Monday – Friday 6 AM to 5:45 PM, Saturday 6 AM to 4:30 PM

· Weekly Pay
