NATURE OF WORK:
Full time, regular non-exempt position which monitors the safe delivery and disposal of solid waste at
the assigned transfer station(s). This position involves competing demands and the ability to perform
multiple tasks simultaneously. Work may require hours beyond the normal business schedule, including
overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays. Regular attendance is an essential function to ensure
continuity of services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses/Certification(s):
A valid driver’s license is required.
Must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with SCSWA policy.
No DUI or DWI convictions within the past twenty-four (24) months.
No moving violations within the past twelve (12) months.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances related to environmental
processes.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Skill in safely operating equipment and using two-way radio communication systems.
Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with the public to ensure compliance with
regulations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and stakeholders.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL FACTORS
Essential duties are performed primarily outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.
Employees may be exposed to hazardous situations, fumes, airborne particles, potentially toxic
or caustic chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
Noise levels may be extremely loud when operating or working near compactors and other
hydraulic equipment.
WORK SITUATION FACTORS:
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate transfer station equipment and move throughout the work environment.
Ability to frequently lift or reposition up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 180 pounds with
appropriate equipment or assistance.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations,
including compliance with 49 CFR Part 40 and SCSWA policies.
Pay: $15.00 - $21.13 per hour
