Septic Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate septic trucks equipped with tanks, hoses, and pumps to collect and transport waste materials across designated routes.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking manual transmission systems, tank integrity, and safety equipment.
• Load, unload, and dispose of waste at approved facilities following all environmental regulations and company protocols.
• Navigate route driving efficiently while adhering to traffic laws, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of waste collection activities, mileage logs, and service reports.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate schedules and address any service issues promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance on trucks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brake systems to ensure optimal operation.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving environments.
• Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Experience handling specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
• Ability to load & unload materials using forklifts or other lifting equipment when necessary.
• Knowledge of route planning for efficient delivery schedules across various terrains.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to septic waste handling and transportation regulations.
