Garbage Truck Driver

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Garbage Truck Driver. In this role, you will operate waste collection trucks, mainly, rear loader and roll-off. Your expertise in driving heavy-duty vehicles combined with mechanical knowledge will ensure efficient collection and transportation of waste materials. Please note, no benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate waste collection trucks such as front loader, rear loader, and roll-off adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Load and unload waste materials efficiently using manual lifting or mechanical equipment like front loaders or roll-off containers.
• Conduct routine inspections of trucks to ensure mechanical functionality and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Drive through designated routes to collect waste from residential, or commercial sites while maintaining timely schedules.
• Assist with the loading and unloading process, ensuring proper handling of heavy materials with manual effort or mechanical aids.
• Maintain accurate logs of daily routes, loads collected, and vehicle inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and uphold safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Class B or higher required with air break endorsement.
• Experience driving garbage trucks.
• Some mechanical knowledge related to front loaders, rear loaders, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading tasks.
• Familiarity with load & unload procedures for various waste containers and roll-off systems.
• Strong driving skills with the ability to navigate urban or rural routes confidently.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
