The Role:
APPLIED Adhesives is building a new Commercial Services function to be responsible for owning, monetizing, and scaling the company’s full portfolio of service-based offerings.
We are seeking an experienced Director, Commercial Services who will transform APPLIED’s services from valuable capabilities into structured, repeatable, and profitable revenue streams.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Sales, Adhesive & Equipment Operations, Finance, Business Development, and Marketing to determine the critical activities and actions needed to win and grow our Services.
The Director of Commercial Services’ primary responsibility is to establish and execute adoption, attach rates, renewals, and margin expansion across APPLIED’s services portfolio.
This position will be intensely interesting to an individual who wants to be a part of a transformative and high-performing team tasked to drive significant market share growth.
This is a remote role, but you must currently live in the U.S. to be considered. The ability to travel 50% of the time is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate incremental, profitable revenue from APPLIED’s services portfolio.
- Increase service attach rates across the installed base.
- Build recurring and renewable service revenue streams.
- Create clear ownership, accountability, and operating rhythm for services.
- Strengthen supplier partnerships through scalable, value-creating service programs.
- Maps and identify decision makers across the target customers and supplier’s organization.
- Gain an internal coach network within the target organization to drive influence.
- Own the end-to-end services business strategy including offer definition, pricing, packaging, and margin targets.
- Proactively engage customers to sell, expand, and renew APPLIED’s service programs.
- Own service revenue forecasting, KPIs, and performance reporting.
- Create sales strategies and plans to effectively move opportunities forward, keeping related supplier relationship work notes up to date to minimum established standards.
- Maintains strong, trustworthy relationships throughout the organization gaining influence to execute on the plan.
- Gaining thorough knowledge of APPLIED’s internal processes and functions of internal teams, IT applications, products, value-added services and industries served is key to success.
- Works closely with VP, Marketing to make sure the deal being developed is acceptable as it reaches fruition.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Business or similar field required. MBA preferred.
- 8–12+ years of experience in business development, services commercialization, or industrial B2B leadership focused on Transportation, Industrial, Electronics, Construction, and Automotive products and markets.
- Proven negotiation experience in monetizing services and building recurring revenue streams.
- Strong understanding of market trends, financial data, and customer insights.
- Quick learner and self-starter with a sense of urgency.
- Forward-thinking to address near and long-term business issues.
- Experience navigating complex multi-stakeholder opportunities, knowledge of pricing and marketing strategies, and proper short- and long-term execution.
- Highly organized with strong planning, facilitation, collaboration, and execution skills.
- Six-Sigma experience preferred.
- Ability to influence at all levels with experience in a distributed, matrixed environment, influencing decision makers with data, building strong coaches to navigate mutually beneficial deals.
- Entrepreneurial acumen, effective communication at all organizational levels, relationship management.
- Strong presentation skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office suite and Windows O/S. Power BI and Salesforce.com CRM platform experience required.
