Crane/Excavator Operator/Laborer (Reidsville, NC)

• The basic function of the Crane Operator / Material Handler is to lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials. Also responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks/trailers and ensuring weights.

• STARTING PAY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Requirements

• Preferred: High School diploma or GED

• Preferred: (2) years experience as a crane operator, preferably in recycling environment

• Must have corrected vision that meets same requirements as a valid driver's license

• Have coordination between eyes, hands, and feet

Principle Duties

• Operate material handler in a manner always ensuring safety for themselves, the customers and their co-workers. Adhere to all company safety policies.

• Lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid bulk material as needed.

• Load and unload trucks/trailers in a timely manner

• Service and maintain material handler daily using company resources.

• Upgrade non-ferrous out of shred/white goods pile.

• Ensure flow of traffic is handled as safely and efficiently as possible

• Uses any free time efficiently by working on ways to make the scrap metal recycling process more efficient and effective.

• Ensures the working areas are kept in a neat, orderly, clean, and hazard free condition

• Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned by the Location Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
