Peck's Septic Service LLC
We are located in Gardners, Pa.
The job description for driver/pumper consists of driving septic truck to and from destinations, pumping and removal of human waste and grease tank/s or traps from concrete vaults, visually inspecting the tank/s or traps, filling out manifest/township inspection forms, having contact with customers, loading and unloading septic trucks and light to moderate labor (Example: digging, small repairs). You must be able to walk and stand regularly throughout the day, work in all weather conditions, must be self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
This job will require safely backing into driveways or on occasion yards (Only if dry and not reachable by other means). Weather is a factor. Most tanks are from 50’ to 200’ away from the starting point in which most cases are driveways or along road. Safety is always a factor when parking on a road. If backing in a yard is the only option, you must first check the yard for dryness; any pipes or wells and call the office to verify (do not take the homeowner’s word for okay to back in). In most cases unless they are new customers we probably will have the info on file.
There are occasions when digging is required, again in most cases if we have done the property before we should have record on file, unless landscaping has be done after out last visit. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. daily and up to 80 lbs. on occasion. With tank/s being located a lot of times to the rear of the home, care must be taken not to destroy flower beds, ornaments or any other objects in the dragging of hose/hoses path. Depending on the distance the tank/s is from the starting point, multiple hoses will need pulled to tank/s and hooked together until there is sufficient hose from the tank to the truck. Depending on the truck driven at that time, depends on the amount of hoses used, each truck has different length of hoses.
Our daily work load will consist of usually 4 jobs in the am and 4 jobs in the pm. There may be times there are more than 4 jobs on the am and pm. This varies depending on distances of jobs away from base and each other and easy jobs vs harder jobs. The day usually begins at 7:30am and you typically work until 4:00-5:00pm, during peak season you may be required to work overtime. You will be required to work alternating weekends.
We strive to make the jobs as easy as possible.
It is the driver’s responsibility daily to fuel up truck, maintain oil on the vacuum pump (your preference if you come in before starting time to take care of your truck or in the evening before you leave), perform a pre-trip inspection of the truck to ensure safety and report any problems to the office.
